이성만 ("Sentence Echo", "we") operates the Sentence Echo Chrome extension and related service. Contact us at romio1225@gmail.com.
Data we handle
- Your Google account identifier and verified email address for sign-in, account management, and security.
- The current YouTube video identifier, caption information (text, language, and timing), your selected language and voice, and the current sentence/playback request context for sentence interpretation and synchronization.
- Your consent, feature settings, and sign-in state in Chrome extension storage.
- Generated translations and speech, request/session status, limited error details, and bounded usage counters for feature operation, quota enforcement, and security.
- The request IP address is processed in running server memory for unauthenticated sign-in and session rate limiting and security. It is not used to derive geolocation and is not written to application databases or persistent access logs.
Sentence Echo does not collect tab audio, microphone or camera data, or unrelated browsing history. Temporary information used only to complete Google sign-in is not retained.
How we use and share data
We use data only to provide sentence interpretation, operate and secure accounts and the service, meet legal obligations, and provide support you request. Captions and translations needed to provide the service are processed by Google AI services.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, share it with data brokers, use it for credit decisions, or use caption content to train a Sentence Echo model. Humans do not routinely read user data. The operator may read specific user data only with the user's explicit consent for requested support, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, to comply with law, or after aggregation and anonymization for internal operations.
Storage and retention
- Consent and settings remain in Chrome until you change them or remove the extension.
- Prepared captions, translations, and generated speech cached on your device become eligible for automatic deletion 30 days after the last local use. Removal occurs when the extension next runs its cache cleanup. Cached content is no longer used and removal begins when you sign out, withdraw consent, or delete the account.
- Your account identifier and email remain until account deletion or as legally required.
- Server-side prepared source captions, sentence mappings, translations, and generated speech become eligible for automatic deletion 30 days after last use and are removed by periodic cleanup, normally within the next hour while the service is running.
- Persistent reverse-proxy and application access logging is disabled in production. Limited per-account and aggregate daily generation counts used for security and quota enforcement are kept for approximately 32 days and then removed by periodic cleanup.
- Processing conversation/history and diagnostic state that may contain request context is purged by a daily maintenance task using a conservative 13-day cutoff so that it remains below a 14-day maximum. Host journal records also have a 14-day maximum.
- Encrypted backups expire within 7 days, unless law or a security incident requires longer retention.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data. No service can guarantee absolute security; report concerns through Support.
Your choices and deletion
You may decline or withdraw consent, stop interpretation, or log out at any time. Account deletion removes your Sentence Echo account information. Active-system deletion completes within 7 days, and backups expire within 7 days. See Account Deletion.
Limited use
Sentence Echo's collection, use, and transfer of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information received from Google APIs is handled in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Age and changes
Users must have legal capacity or any consent required under applicable law. We will update this policy and request new consent when required before making material changes to data practices.
